I was playing around (YESTERDAY!!! FINALLY I GOT OUT AND SHOT SOME STUFF!!) with my new macro setup (a cheap DIY kinda deal, a old pentax manual lens mounted reversed on a cheap made-in-china bellows I bought off ebay... It makes for amazing closeups, but hard to get much of anything too sharp, plus results in a super narrow depth of field (normal for macro work i guess...). In any case, it was a lot of fun, and I'll improve.

HDRish Experiment and Construction Equipment
I went out with Nathan Brough last night and shot some old construction equipment he spotted. This bulldozer looked pretty sweet. It was actually pretty dark, but a 20 second exposure really lightened things up. I was really trying to show the roughness of the blade in this pic, although I don't know if you can really see it.. Anyways, I just really like the right side of the blade...
I also tried to do some HDR type shots on this high-ho just for fun. Following are some of the actual pictures, followed by the merged version. (I used a Hugin tool rather than a real HDR tonemapper..)

Rusty and Megan
I went to a wedding photography workshop a last semester and got some really great shots. It was really great to have a pro there to teach us about posing, lighting, and composition. I was recently going through the pictures again to get them ready to give to the modeling couple and thought I would put a couple three up here. My goal is to have this blog be a motivation to get me to go out and shoot more, but so far most of what I have been doing is posting old pictures. At least I'm doing something with my photos... lol...

Despair.com Laughs
Ha, okay, this really has nothing at all to do with photography, but I was just checking stuff out at www.despair.com and saw a shirt that really made me laugh. Even though I am trying to get more into blogging and using it as a vehicle to improve my photography, I still find the general concept somewhat amusing, and so this shirt really hit home. I think I might buy it. Anyways, here is the logo that was on it.
